Holiday Heels and Foot Pain!

With holiday parties upon us, it’s time to dress up, make occasions special and go the extra glamorous mile for the fun of being festive!  That probably means high heels are in your future. But there is nothing fun or fabulous about foot pain. And for many of us that is the reality of wearing gorgeous high heels.photo 3Doctors have been preaching more and more loudly about the benefits of toe separation during sleep or down time as a way to alleviate toe, foot and ankle pain. Gel yoga toes or gel toe separators are amazing when it comes to relaxing your feet. But if you don’t want to splurge on the $30 toe cozies, you can do a DIY version with yard pompoms and socks.

Simply make small yarn pompoms using a fork, or buy a pack of them at the craft store. They are very inexpensive and super easy to make. I have pinned how to make them on my Pinterest page. Once you have 8 of them made or purchased, you place them between your toes and add a sock to hold them in place. This is a great “exercise” while you are watching TV or sleeping. It stretches your foot and relaxes the cramped foot muscles that get squeezed in heels. You’ll be surprised at how great it works.

Give it a try!  You’ll enjoy wearing your heels again… so it’s totally worth it.
