With award season if full swing, the one hair trend that is not fading is the side-swept do.

The retro trend of pulling your perfectly waved hair to one side, exposing the neckline and collar bone has radiated Hollywood glamour since Veronica Lake. But to offer a little element of surprise and a touch of tough girl, think about incorporating a detailed French braid on one side, or a tight French twist.

Perhaps add some decorative pins, a flower or sequined clips, to keep your do snugly swept the to side. Adding these elements give the look of a faux-hawk, which will always seem rock and roll chic. So don’t just pull it to one side…push it to the side and juxtapose those lovely effortless locks with something right and tight.
